 Kerala KrishiBhavans Internship: A Department of Agriculture offers an internship opportunity to aspiring young farmers in its grass-root offices, such as KrishiBhavans. They will gain practical experience in marketing, crop planning, cultivation, extension, administration and other related fields. They will be able to have better interactions with farmers and other agricultural professionals.

These are the main goals of the scheme

a) Interactions with farmers and people who want to go into farming.

b) Collecting information about

  • Current crop area
  • Crop Health status
  • Time of harvest anticipated
  • Market arrival estimates
  • Marketing challenges and market scenario
  • Assessing the land available for agriculture
  • The area's resource mapping
  • Evaluation of the outcomes of previous interventions
  • Technical support should be channelled wherever possible.

c) Exposure to the operation of the office in relation to

  • Management of the Front Office
  • Data entry/updation
  • Assistance with extension activities in the office

Kerala KrishiBhavans Internship Eligibility and Application:

  1. Internships are available for VHSE certificate holders in agriculture and diploma holders in organic farming/agriculture.
  2. Age should be between 18 and 41 years as of 01.08.2022
  3. Online applications are possible for eligible candidates. You can download the Annexure l application form from the website. The completed application form and certificates must be submitted to the interview.
  4. As an incentive, interns will receive Rs.2500 per month. Assisting the Department officials with extension activities, collecting information from the field, distributing planting materials, and assisting farmers in strengthening Agricultural Markets and gaining maximum support from the Department, the interns will be selected. Data entry and other tasks as specified in the module and decided by the Agricultural Officer/Asst. Director of Agriculture/ Principal Chief Agricultural Officer. The internship period is 180 days (6 months) and must be completed by the end of this financial year. The Principal Agricultural Officers will issue interns a certificate upon successful completion of their internship. This certificate can be used as an experience certificate.
